Your gluten-free dining companion, wherever you are.
Elios Table helps you discover gluten-free food and understand more about the places serving it — whether you're coeliac, gluten-free for another reason, travelling with someone who is, or simply curious about what's out there.
From neighbourhood cafés to restaurants halfway across the world, find the information that matters to you before you decide where to eat.
I've always been someone who researches where I'm going before I get there. Long before any of this, I'd read the menu, check the reviews, look at the photos — whether it was a hole-in-the-wall café somewhere in Europe, a new spot near home, or a restaurant I'd booked well in advance. I genuinely love discovering food wherever I am.
Then, in 2018, I was diagnosed with coeliac disease — and that research stopped being a pleasant habit. It became the difference between an enjoyable meal and a bad week.
What one dinner out used to look like
None of that information was impossible to find, exactly. One platform had the reviews. Another had the menu. A Facebook group had someone's personal experience. The restaurant's website mentioned gluten-free options. Details about how the kitchen actually prepared things lived somewhere else entirely.
The problem wasn't that the information didn't exist.
The problem was that it was scattered everywhere. Why can't more of this live under one roof?
That question became Elios Table. The idea is to bring the different pieces of the gluten-free dining experience together — discovering venues, gluten-free options, information about preparation practices, community experiences, Venue-Confirmed details direct from venues, saved places, a Chef Card, menu and product tools, and practical tools for eating and travelling gluten-free.
That doesn't mean Elios Table replaces talking to a venue or deciding for yourself whether somewhere suits your own requirements. It means less of the fragmented research you'd otherwise have to piece together every time you want to eat somewhere.
Less jumping between platforms. Less piecing everything together yourself. More of what you need, in one place.
I want to be honest about something: I'm not building this for a demographic I researched. I'm one of the people it's built for. I use Elios Table when I'm working out where to eat, and I use it when I travel. I also have friends, family and connections in the coeliac and wider gluten-free community whose experiences constantly teach me about needs and frustrations different from my own.
Living inside the problem has a practical benefit. If I catch myself leaving Elios Table to check something on another platform, that tells me something is missing — and it goes on the list. If a feature feels confusing or unhelpful while I'm using it myself, I rethink it. When the same problem keeps coming up in the community, that shapes what gets built next. Elios Table is continually shaped by real use, not assumptions about what gluten-free diners might want.
I build what I wish I had. Then I use it.
There's one more part of this story. I didn't want Elios Table to rely entirely on information gathered from third-party sources — because that's half the frustration of researching restaurants online: diners trying to work out what happens inside a kitchen without ever hearing from the people operating it.
So venues are part of the story too. Any venue can provide information about its own gluten-free practices directly to Elios Table, which you'll see on its profile as Venue-Confirmed. That's not an inspection, a certification or a guarantee — it simply means the information comes from the venue itself, creating a better connection between you and the businesses actually preparing your food.

When I first sketched this out, I imagined a coeliac-only platform. It's the lens I live through, and it's genuinely where Elios Table came from. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised these tools shouldn't be kept from everyone else who eats gluten-free — as long as the differences in what people need are made clear. That part of the story continues below.
Whatever brings you here — my hope is that Elios Table becomes the companion you reach for, whether you're eating around the corner or halfway across the world.
As I mentioned, a coeliac-only platform was the obvious starting point. I know firsthand how different "gluten-free" and suitable for someone with coeliac disease can be — and why details like shared fryers, preparation areas and cross-contact practices matter.
But I also know how frustrating it is when someone's dietary needs are treated as less important simply because they don't have coeliac disease — and I didn't want Elios Table to create another version of that exclusion.
People choose or need gluten-free food for all kinds of reasons. Some live with intolerances or sensitivities. Some are travelling with a gluten-free partner or family member. Others simply want to see what gluten-free options are available.
You shouldn't need the "right" reason to use Elios Table.
So Elios Table is designed to give everyone access to the information while making the differences clear.
Someone looking for a great gluten-free meal can discover new places. Someone with coeliac disease can look deeper into the information that matters to them — preparation areas, shared equipment, cross-contact practices and the details behind a menu claim — so they can decide for themselves whether a venue is appropriate for them.
Everyone is welcome. Different people need different information.
When you see the Venue-Confirmed badge, it means the venue has directly supplied information about its own practices — from preparation areas and fryers to staff training and menu labelling.
Everyone can use Elios Table, but not everyone using it has the same dietary requirements or level of risk. Our role is to provide the information — the decision about whether a venue is right for you remains yours.
